Original stock car built in the 1960's and ran at the Rocky Hill Speedway in Porterville CA, Bakersfield Speedway, and other tracks around Central California. In the 1970's the well used '53 Ford body was cut away and replaced with a '63 Falcon body. Along with this picture of the car from Dick's private collection, here is what he remebers about it Hershel bought the car from Richard at Daytona and ran the Winston West Series for a couple of years. He tied the all time win record with that car for Winston West, he and Parnelli Jones have 11 wins in a row. Hershel was actually leading in the 12th but was pushed into the wall in San Jose California by another car and had to park. The #64 Holman-Moody Thunderbird was the car driven by Fritz Wilson who finished in 56th place with a blown piston. He actually only made 15 laps before leaving the race. The car that finished in 2nd place was driven by Johnny Beauchamp in the #73 car. In a photo finish #73 was initially declared the winner.
